The Gloucester Stingrays Swim Team is a member of the Tri-County Swim Association of South Jersey. The league consists of multiple divisions and offers us the opportunity to swim against teams similar to our size.

The team is under the direction of Coach Brianna Penney.

The season runs from Memorial Day to the last weekend in July, with most meets occurring on Saturday mornings. If a swimmer qualifies, championships take place in early August.

Children ages 5 (who have a red band)-18 are encouraged to join the team.  They will learn to master the four main strokes in swimming: free, back, breast, and butterfly. Not only that, they will build upon sportsmanship and teamwork while having fun in the water!

Brianna Penney

The GC Stingrays are excited to welcome back Brianna Penney who will be returning as head swim coach!!  She is currently finishing up her 2nd year of college with a major in early childhood education. Brianna started swimming with the Stingrays at the age of 7. She has also lifeguarded for the GC Swim Club for years and we are thrilled she will be returning as the Stingrays head coach. During the off season, Brianna  became a USA Certified Swim Coach with USA Swimming.   She has also been coaching a Spring Warmups with Blue Wave Aquatics and is ready for another amazing year coaching for us!    Go Stingrays!!!

Meet the Assistant Coach

Madison Wall

The Stingrays are very happy to welcome back their Assistant Swim Coach, Madison Wall!  Madison began her swim career as a Stingray when she was 9 years old and continued with the team when she graduated at 18.  She has also swam for the Gloucester High Lions and was captain for 2 years.   She has also been a lifeguard at the GC Swim Club.  Madison just completed her first year at Widener University and is majoring in psychology with a pathway to Occupational Therapy with hopes to become a pediatric occupational therapist.   We are so excited that she will be returning as assistant coach again this year.  Go Stingrays!!!
